1. Start - Internet Explorer, Right click and choose Internet Properties ..view
2. (Optional) Change home page to http://www.zzzip.net/ ..view
3. Click on the Connections tab and click Add ..view
4. Choose Dial up to private nework and click next ..view
5. Enter you local access number (enter 8652828 for Parkersburg), then click next ..view
6. Type in Zzzipnet and click finish ..view
7. Enter User Name and Password, leave Domain blank, then click Advanced ..view
8. Check Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed, click OK, then OK again ..view
9. Make sure it says Zzzipnet (Default) and that Always dial my default connection is marked. If not, mark it, highlight Zzzipnet and click Set Default ..view



Open Outlook Express, click on Tools, then Options. Next click on theConnection tab and uncheck Hang up after sending and receiving, then OK. Restart Outlook Express.



Open Outlook Express, click on Tools, Options, then click on the Security tab. Uncheck Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.


1. Download mailwasher from www.mailwasher.net
2. Open the downloaded file, click Yes at the prompt to install Mailwasher
3. Follow through with the installation progress
4. When you open Mailwasher for the first time, an Accounts window will appear. Click Add
5. Hotmail accounts are not supported in this version of Mailwasher. To apply Mailwasher to a Hotmail or MSN account, you will need to get Mailwasher Pro. Trial copies of Mailwasher Pro are available from www.firetrust.com. To set up your Zzzipnet email account, the format is POP3, which is the only choice, then click OK
6. The next screen will let you name the connection; this can be whatever you would like. When finished, click the Incoming Mail tab at the top of the window
7. Enter mail.zzzip.net for the POP3 server address, and then enter your email ID and password. When finished, click the Bouncing & Outgoing Mail tab
8. Enter mail.zzzip.net for the SMTP server address, then enter your email address and click OK
9. Click Close on the Accounts window
10. Now you can check your email from Mailwasher. Before the email is actually downloaded with your current mail program, Mailwasher will show you the new emails and let you choose which ones to keep, which ones to delete, and which return addresses to block. When you have marked your incoming mail, simply click Process Mail. Mailwasher will sort your new mail according to your specifications, and will load your mail program to download the new email that Mailwasher did not delete.

4. Open Outlook Express, go to Tools, then select Accounts
5. Select the Mail tab, select mail.zzzip.net, then click on Properties
6. Select the Servers tab. Change the Account name setting to be a combination of the original Account name setting and the Incoming Mail (POP3) setting, separated by a colon. Then, Change the Incoming Mail (POP3) setting to "127.0.0.1" ..view
7. Click the OK button and then the Close button
8. In the Folders menu, right click on Local Folders and click on the New Folder option..view
9. Type "Spam" and click the OK button
10. Go to Tools, go down to Message Rules, and then select the Mail option
11. In the New Mail Rule window, select "Where the Subject line contains specific words" as the Condition for your rule and "Move it to the specified folder" as the Action for your rule
12. Click on the underlined value that reads "contains specific words". Type "*****SPAM*****" and click the Add button and then click the OK button..view
13. Click on the underlined value that reads Specified. Select the Spam folder that you just created and click the OK button..view
14. Type in a name for the new rule such as "SAproxy"..view, and click on the OK button and then another OK button. Now, incoming spam will automatically go into the Spam folder. You may want to check through it periodically just in case you have any false positives
